Sorry.

I admit it! I have ignored this blog during the past week. I just played N64, played a few games on the internet, and didn't do anything toward the blogger templates. So I am now about a week behind schedule. That's OK. I will hopefully do Custom Yahoo! Light today. Then next week, I just change a few images and a few color codes and, TADA!, I am complete. I promise I will be done by the end of next week.

Just remember what I did this last week was NOTHING. Oh, don't play Mario Party (1) with the regular N64 controller. Some of the games require you to spin the control stick around really fast. The regular controller (packaged with the N64, if you bought new) gives you blisters, because there are grooves. Get a different controller, with a softer (or at least smoother) pad for the control stick. That's all I have to say for today.

P.S. Sorry, I lied again. I didn't do anything toward the template. I'll do it, eventually.

Basic Yahoo! Light 2.0

2.0 is done! There are two versions:

imghost: I host the images for you, but there are no guarantees.

selfsufficient: You host the images, but you need to modify the template to point the where you are hosting.

They can both be downloaded now from:

bloggertemplates.bravehost.com/templates/basiclight/download/.

Special Note: I have dropped the imghost version. See the post "Changes" from July 12, 2004 for more information.

Note (regular kind): I have updated the quick link on July 12.

It is complete!

I (finally) got the template working the way I wanted it to! It is now LIVE at templateexperiment.blogspot.com !!! There is only one thing left to do: make the images self sufficient. I hope to finish that in a few minutes.

Templates!

Overnight my template idea split into 4. There will be 4 templates. A brief description of each follows:

Basic Yahoo! Light-Uses all Yahoo! Links, Yahoo! Color Scheme
Basic Yahoo! Dark-Uses all Yahoo! Links, Darker Color Scheme
Custom Yahoo! Light-Uses links to whatever you want, Yahoo! Color Scheme
Custom Yahoo! Dark-Uses links to whatever you want, Darker Color Scheme

Note that the Basic themes can be cut and pasted, but the Custom ones should be customized greatly.

When I am finished, Custom Yahoo! Dark will become this Blog's Template.

I am almost done with Basic Yahoo! Light. You can check it out at:

bloggertemplates.bravehost.com/templates/basiclight/

I am hoping to get all 4 templates done by the end of the week.

Note: Modifyed post on July 12th to point to new quick URL.

I HATE TEMPLATE EDITING!!!

I got this really neat "Yahoo" Blogger Template off of blogger-templates.blogspot.com, I removed the little Yahoo ad between the top navigation and the search and I modified the search to use Google. It looked fine, so I copied it into the Blogger Template window and clicked preview. Horror!!!!! The sidebar was totally messed up! It was horrid! So I tried making some modification. Tried again. It didn't look different! I have decided to revert to the old template. I am going to create another blog and experiment with the template there. Then, once I get it working, I will change this blog to be total "Google Hacked Yahoo!" theme. I will give the theme once I get it done. Then the fun begins. I will make it "Dark Yahoo!" I hate the whole light scheme, I like the dark ones. I will modify the top navigation to bend it to my will. Basically, It will look like Yahoo, but be nothing like it. I will modify this post with the URL of the experiment blog as soon as I get it made.

The url is templateexperiment.blogspot.com.

Note: Modified post on July 12th, the URL was incorrect.

Eeek! Not the metal stuff!

I went to the orthodontist today. I just got back. (help!) They took a few x-rays, took some "before" pictures. I go back two weeks from now to see what they want to do to me. This is not going to be good.

NEW new site

All right, I admit it! I can't make up my mind! At first I was going with Tripod (and I still will update that site with the links to specific posts), but they aren't very good for file storage. So I have created a new site that will (hopefully) store files and be a mirror to the blog. It is

villageidiot.squarespace.com

They have a really good site update interface. It is free too (you get a 30 day free trial of their pro and then they downgrade you to the whimpier free version). I will post the RPG on it when I get it done (sometime later this summer [hopefully]). For now I have uploaded a cool download I got off of PCWorld.com. It is called Pivot. You can make stick figure animations. It is fairly easy to use, includes a sample animation, and some pre-made stick figures (you can make your own too). It can also export the animations as images for the web. You can find it easily by going to:

bloggertemplates.bravehost.com/files/pivot/

(It is actually http://villageidiot.squarespace.com/display/ShowFiles?moduleId=31692&directoryId=7686, but squarespace allows you to create short links like that [see, it is cool!] But, that is only for pro users.)

Wow, this is the most I have ever written! That's cool!

Note: Edited post at 5:20 PM on 6/14/04. Noticed a typo ("same" instead of "sample").
Note: Edited post on July 12th, to point to the new quick URL, because my free trial expires after today, and it will delete the URL mappings.

Why won't it work??!!??

I tried to enter a site description, but the blog won't publish. Let's just see if this works. If this is posted, everything is working.

By the way, I found out that profile editing is temporarily down, due to a slow and unresponsive blogger.com .

First try: didn't work. I got "001 java.net.NoRouteToHostException: No route to host" must try again.
2nd Try: Same thing
3rd try: Same thing still... I'm just going to try again later.

Another try at 5:39-It works! YAY!!!!

Another note...(man am I stupid)

I might post the RPG as soon as I get it finished! :)

I almost forgot...RPG MANIA!

I almost forgot to mention one thing today! I am creating an RPG (using RPG Maker 2000) called "The Epic Journey of the Village Idiots"(hereafter known as EJVI). EJVI is about a group of village idiots teleported to the planet Stupid by the Supidians, because they think village idiots are the smartest people on earth. We'll just have to see how the RPG thing works.

I must be sleepy! I kept typing things wrong!

Harry Potter and the Prizoner of Azkaban-A Review of the Movie

Yesterday I saw Harry Potter and the Prizoner of Azkaban. Hogwarts sure has changed in a year and a half. Everything is really hilly now, and that is just the beginning. This movie went by in a flash. Nothing got a lot of time devoted to it. The special effects were good, but not great.

Now a warning: if you have not read the book, don't see the movie. They leave out so many things that you would easily get lost while watching it. The movie wasn't bad, but I think I liked the first two better.

I give "Prizoner of Azkaban" a 7 out of 10, it was only O.K.

New Site

I just spent the last hour creating a site on Tripod.com that is a quick directory to this blog. It is just about ready to be posted! It is at:

completevillageidiot.tripod.com

Ahh! So much to write.

I must admit, I have neglected this blog a little. I have so much to write about today. (HELP!) Let's start with friday.

I got so little sleep! I watched all 3 lord of the rings movies in a row and played on a PS2. I just took a couple hour nap to make up for the 45 minutes of sleep I got. (This would have been posted at about noon PST)

Now each thing will have it's own post. I started a "Blog Directory" site for this blog. And I saw Harry Potter, so I will write a review.

Blogger vs. Tripod Blog Builder

It is the ultimate battle. I tried out Tripod Blog Builder and I wrote a quick comparison based on about 5 minutes of use of both. Check it out on my alternate blog at

completevillageidiot.tripod.com/blog

(By the way, I like blogger a little more, but I tried to remain unbiased in my article thingy.)

Freedom!!!!

School is almost out, but there is one thing left. FINALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm dead!* :)

*Not really.
